Gomer Pyle Writes Gay Love Letters

“Love Letters to Sarge” (January 29, 1965)

Not only is this the only installment of a podcast that will explain the gay history of Gomer Pyle and the man who played him, but also it’s the only discussion of Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C to feature relevant clips from both The Simpsons and Sailor Moon, because that’s the kind of show this is. Special thanks to listener Robyn Pavlakovich for suggesting this episode.

I asked my husband to try his hand a a dirty limerick. Here is what he came up with: There once was a man from Pomona Who decided to fuck a kimono Into the smooth, shiny silk He shot all his milk Tossed it aside and then grunted, "I'll phone ya"

Joseph Tinsley

Oh also I am going to be so excited to hear the Sex and the City episode. There are many to choose from! The one where Miranda’s co-workers set her up with a woman because she reads as gay, the one where Carrie kisses Alanis Morissette, the ones where Samantha has a girlfriend…

Erin Fletcher

Maybe he did recognize Gomer’s handwriting at the end and it sparked a love affair between them. But I have no data for this queer reading because I’ve never seen the show. Before I listened I had no idea this character had his own show. I just knew him from Andy Griffith.

Also, I'm getting a 404 when I click on the Beyond Sunset link.

They use the term "gomer" a lot on ER. They use it for recurring, problem patients and idk if it's a backronym but multiple random places on the internet (including urban dictionary) say it stands for "get out of my emergency room."

1981. Because slasher. It's the one with John Lemmon's son in it.

Drew Mackie

You mentioned the film "Just Before Dawn", but which one are you referring to. There's one 2010, 1981, and 1946

Zachary 'Pup GIR' Ledbetter

I have listened sporadically. What is the kink he associates with Cesar Romero?

Drew Mackie

Regarding Danny Thomas, TS's source would be Gilbert Gottfried's podcast. He mentions it and Caesar Romero's alleged kink constantly if you ever listen.

Robyn Pavlakovich

It’s a thing a beauty

Here's my dirty limerick inspired by this episode. "There was a young man from Pomona, who couldn't get rid of his boner, he cunted his bros in the bathroom at Lowe's, and all of his cum went in Jonah."
