If you’ve never seen an episode of G.I. Joe or played with the associated action figures, you’re not alone. Drew hadn’t either — until he watched “Once Upon a Joe,” which is easily one of the stranger things we’ve discussed on this show so far. Yes, it is gross pro-military propaganda, but you may be surprised to know that it’s also colorful, campy and subtly queer… even if there is not actually a character named Joe.
BTW, when Drew asks why Shipwreck sounds like Jack Nicholson, we didn’t realize until later that it’s because of this.
