Devlog #43 - Getting back to development.
Added 2024-06-07 16:21:39 +0000 UTCHey everyone, I need to explain why I haven't posted anything about the main game this week. Here's what happened...
First, my SSD, where I had the program for generating the renders for the game, completely died. I lost everything that was on it. Luckily, I always back up the maps, characters, and configurations in the cloud whenever I release a new episode. This saved me a lot.
This week, I couldn't work on anything while waiting for the new SSD to arrive. It was a cheap 128GB SSD. After it arrived and I set it up, I had to get the program again. Downloading 60GB was the easy part; the real problem was downloading the studio items. These took longer since they were torrent files, which meant several more days of waiting for the download.
Because I didn't want to leave Patreon without any updates, I decided to make this remake and post it here. I'll take just two more days to sort everything out and then get back to developing Episode 10 with full force.

2024-06-07 21:59:59 +0000 UTCThat's exactly what I'm doing now. I already had the habit of backing up important things, and this incident has only reinforced that habit. So, every time I finish an episode, I save all the important files in the cloud using Mega, Mediafire, and Google Drive.

2024-06-07 20:39:41 +0000 UTCSSD failure is a killer of many. Luckily you've backed up a lot of things, so hopefully this doesn't put you back too much. When you get the chance you should swap that SSD out of something of better quality, and make sure to back up to multiple other things (Drive, Mega, etc)

2024-06-07 20:28:28 +0000 UTCThank you for sharing that, it puts things into perspective and thank you for bouncing back and pushing forward. I know when I lose work due to a crash, even with backups, it still feels like a blow that makes it hard to get going again. You're amazing, thanks for pushing forward and providing us with something else, the reworked game, while we wait for the next main event of the next incredible episode in your wonderful game.
