Very rarely are two records gonna sound the same, same artist or not. That's just how music is made. The production choices with Chino's voice being a bit further back is very intentional and works for me but I get why it wouldn't (FWIW your copy of the audio sounds very different than Spotify and Apple Music) It makes me sad yall haven't vibed with much Deftones besides those first couple reactions because there is a LOT you will dig but the community is giving u their favourites instead of what you are likely to enjoy
