Bonus! What's really behind those BONKERS ex-gay "cures"

But they more you hear about their supposed treatments, it's hard not to notice that a lot of them seem really really really gay. So in this week's bonus video we're taking a look at some of the weirdest, the gayest, and also a few that are truly horrifying. (And a heads-up: This is going to include some talk about sexual abuse.)

Oh yes I'm familiar with that one! The pansy character is probably a reference to the real-life flamboyant actor Tyrell Davis. I haven't covered Flip the Frog because so many of the character's shorts are, unfortunately, insanely racist! ...Which really overshadows this momentary gay reference in this one short. 2025-08-04 19:38:15 +0000 UTCHey, have you come across this little oddity? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR8PRGf72Ms Not exactly a positive portrayal, but at least he does get his revenge on the guy who was too busy being aggressively hetero to pay attention to his order. Could be seen as a Frankenstein-ish "revenge of the oppressed" narrative; or, as is more likely to have been intended given the era, a story about how Those People are dangerous and will destroy everything.
