For this week's bonus video, I wanted to give a little context for why, in this house, we adore Natasha Lyonne -- starting with her adorable early roles in commercials and Pee-Wee's Playhouse, and then of course with her teen appearance in But I'm a Cheerleader. Things took an unpleasant turn for a few years in her 20s: Some people in her life who did not have her best interests at heart; and a health crisis that nearly took her out. But fortunately for her -- and us! -- she's made of tough stuff, and not only survived but thrived.

SO EXCITED for the But I'm A Cheerleader video!!!!! And while, obviously, you are correct on the misogyny in Hollywood, I think perhaps Natasha's....cis+ swagger, shall we say, is why she's so adept at playing lesbians. The way she carries herself translates well into, I don't know if butchness is really the word I'm looking for, but she reads authentically as a queer woman when playing those characters. At least in a way that is relatable to me haha
