New Patreon benefit for you! The Matt Baume Discord server

I’m trying something new: A Patron-exclusive Discord server, and you’re invited to join!
You can think of Discord like a forum - a community gathering-place where you can talk about stuff that interests you like movies, tv shows, books, and music, and the topics I cover in my videos, podcasts, livestreams, newsletter, and beyond.
The Discord server is open to all paying Patrons (that's you!) via web browser or the Discord app, and it’s active as of now. To join us just takes three steps:
1. Set up a Discord account if you don’t already have one — you can do that here.
2. Connect your Patreon account to your Discord account so it knows you’re a member. You can do that here, and Patreon has additional step-by step instructions here. (You can always message me for assistance as well.)
3. Join the server: Once you've connected your accounts, you'll be automatically added to the server, which you can access through the Discord web interface or through the Discord app, which you can download for desktop or mobile. (Also, Patreon should show you a "Join server" button on the Discord Apps page, pictured below.)
And that’s it! Introduce yourself and join the conversation!
This is a bit of an experiment to see how folks like it. Let me know your thoughts — looking forward to seeing you there!

The name alone "implies an intrinsic or essential lack of harmony producing quarreling, factiousness, or antagonism" (oh, joy!). Probably I'm just too old (70.5) for all of this. I was happy to join Patreon to support you. But all other social media is simply, to me, a total time-suck that has helped destroy how we live our lives and receive information and news. I neither need nor want to "share voice, video, and text chat with friends, game communities, and developers". Nope... "include me out" as Samuel Goldwyn famously said.
