Bonus video! Tab's Tabloid Troubles and Roddy McDowall: Pirate!

Hello there! In this week's bonus video, we're diving into the coded double-talk in some 50s-era tabloids. What's the REAL agenda behind these magazines? It's not always as it seems, and I have a hunch that some articles about hunky himbo Tab Hunter were designed more to manipulate the star than share anything substantive with the audience.

And! I have the story of Roddy McDowall and an awkward run-in with the FBI back in the 70s, and also a sneak peek at the Rock Hudsony fun I'm gathering for the next video.

Plus a delightful sketch involving Tab and Ethel Merman! You can watch the full segment here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2uY3lOqZos

As a horror fan I know Roddy from some fun horror movies like Cutting Class, Fright Night, Shakma, and The Legend of Hell House

He really was a good singer! I think he could've had a Broadway career around this time, though it doesn't seem to be something he was interested in until he was a bit too old to break in.

I'm impressed that Tab manages to hold his own in a duet with Ethel Merman. I've heard that Donald O'Connor found doing this number with her (in Call Me Madam) challenging because of her overpowering voice. Thanks for finding that clip!
