We'll delve into the unlikely inspiration for the Joker's maniacal laugh.
AND! If you're a fan of mysteries and Stephen Sondheim, you probably already know that Sondheim wrote a murder-mystery in the 1970s called The Last of Sheila. That movie was one of the primary inspirations for Rian Johnson's film Glass Onion, and this Wednesday (Dec 21) me & my YouTube-neighbor Matt Colville will be getting on a livestream to discuss The Last of Sheila, Sondheim, and the unlikely connection between musicals and mysteries. That always feels like a reference to the aftermath of the French Revolution. In the Scarlett Pimpernel (originally a stage play) the hero is saving aristocrats from the guillotine and smuggling them to England, not trying to stop the revolution.
