Bonus Video! Losing the Lyrics on Live TV & Other Tales

Well this sure has been a weird week. If you haven't heard, I've been dealing with a bout of vertigo that's forced me to push back some projects, including this week's episode of The Sewers of Paris and a Modern Family video that I'd wanted to have out today. Apologies for having to delay those, and thanks for your patience while I get back on my feet! (I was able to get medical care and I'm feeling better now, but it's going to take awhile longer to fully recover.)
In the mean time, I'm making this week's bonus video public for everyone. It features one of my favorite showbiz stories -- the time Broadway star Leslie Uggams was forced to improvise during a live TV broadcast and wound up creating a new June tradition for gay bars around the world. I love this story because it's about someone who bonked into an unwanted setback, but instead of retreating, barreled forward and managed to create something unexpected and delightful -- a nice way of dealing with the ... you know, everything ... of life.
Also in this video: How Eric Stonestreet landed the role of Cam on Modern Family even though he wasn't originally someone they were considering; and I demonstrate my one very useless party trick.

2022-06-12 19:00:05 +0000 UTCUgh. Vertigo is the worst. I recently worked for an ENT, and a lot of times there wasn't anything we could do. Luckily my vertigo is BVVP so BBQ Rolls (not the food) help considerably.

Woke up one day with what with the whole world spinning at top speed and what felt like the worst hangover of my life, but without any of the fun the night before. Couldn't walk in a straight line for at least a week. Take it really easy for now, that's the fastest way to recovery. ❤
