Added 2022-08-14 17:00:03 +0000 UTCRecent events have indicated that I needed a better backup to the lav mikes (which seem to die every couple of months) than the built-in on the camera. So, one directional shotgun mike. Hopefully when the lav dies un-noticed in future, this will do a better job of reducing the loss of quality.
That's a different problem from the excess gain such as the day I recorded the Ford 3-ton, M1, and a bunch of others yet to come. But as they say, experience is a terrible teacher. It teaches you what you need to know after you needed to know it.
