Aww yiss it's time for a ride 🚗

Speaking of rides, I'm taking one into the sky to go on holiday at the end of this week! It's my first break since before the pandemic and I'm excited to take some time off to recharge my creative batteries. I'll still be posting new Cat Town comics and doodles while I'm away, but exocomics will be paused until I get back on the 20th of April :)

I'll be posting lots of holiday stories over on my instagram and I'll write a couple of holiday posts here too!

Also please leave me a comment if you have recommendations/tips for things to do in Frankfurt, Vienna, Venice, Rome, Genoa, Lyon or Paris. Or very quick things I could do during an eight hour layover in San Francisco! :D

Ohhh wow pneumatic tube coffee sounds so neat, thanks Nicki!!

Thanks for the list, Murray!! I wasn't going to go to Murano but now I think I will!

SFO has a museum in the international terminal (outside security, though). https://www.sfomuseum.org/aviation-museum-library It has neat displays and the library part is cozy. There is also a coffee shop nearby where the coffee zooms in pneumatic tubes, the "Javabot". https://goo.gl/maps/WdZ7bgaznJWqmHS16 If you make it into SF proper by taking BART in (its 30 mins but I'd budget an hour cuz they are usually on a 20 min schedule), I'm a fan of the Asha Tea House https://goo.gl/maps/eUtbMDUoCzjVQFNRA, or visit the Ferry Building https://goo.gl/maps/zfCHTBaT4RR3QTQY9 (snacks, drinks, etc) and enjoy the views from the wharfs.

I’ve only been to about half of these places (and 20 years ago), but: Venice: I enjoyed visiting Murano, the glass blowing island. Rome: I had a cold so wasn’t enjoying myself. The usual sites (Pantheon, Forum, Coliseum) were good. I’m told the catacombs are good. I went to St Pauls but wasn’t keen to pay the $ to see the rest of it. Lyon: like most European towns, I just recall enjoying wandering the streets. It’s a lovely city. Paris: I love Paris and could go back anytime. I’m guessing many of these are already on your list, but my favourites include: - Sit outside at a café with a coffee and croissant (or however Beans spells it) and take in the world passing by. - Eiffel Tower (climb the first two levels before taking the lift) - Depends on your art preferences, Musee d’Orsay. Pompidou Centre and the Louvre are all good. There’s a cool Rodin Museum. If you’re a big fan of Renoir, his garden at Giverny is an easy day trip. - Sacre Coeur is popular. - Versailles is popular, but I also enjoyed Fontainebleau. - If you’re a fan of Amelie, you can see some of the sites (but the café is expensive). - The catacombs are cool (and can be a respite from the heat) - I also enjoy visiting cemeteries. Pere Lachaise has some cool(?) graves including Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison and - As noted above, wander the streets. My backpacking saying was that if your feet aren’t sore at the end of the day, you haven’t done enough. I always enjoyed walking tours when I lived in London because they often show you things most tourists don’t see, but I guess it depends on your interests and time. Honestly, there are so many cool things to see in Europe (haven’t been to SF), so try to prioritise what you enjoy.
