it's funny that sam thought brittany murphy was from the scooby doo movie because cher (alicia silverstone) is the reporter/main villain in scooby doo 2: monsters unleashed lol

2025-01-07 06:52:16 +0000 UTCI love Clueless! Always a film that my mom and I bonded over. They did a pretty decent sitcom of it after too. Mostly different actors, but Donald Faisen and Amber Mariens are both in it haha. Pig and The Green Room are both based in Oregon. Also, lolll I don’t know why I thought Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was based in San Francisco my whole life. Makes sense it’s in Chicago lol

2024-12-31 11:41:06 +0000 UTCI’m sorry but Caroline is not correct about clueless. As someone who was in high school when the movie came out, everyone who saw it at my school that it was so out of touch. No one was talking or dressing like that. We generally mocked it as made by someone who thinks they know what high school was like at that time. Maybe it was just centered too much on LA, but no one my school related to that movie

2024-12-03 18:58:30 +0000 UTCthat was a lot of fun!! i love the chill vibes. im not sure if it is always going to be this way but i really liked the uncut flow. the editing is awesome on the main episode which is a faster pace and a little bit punchier. i think that has broad appeal. but the long form riffing in the bonus episode is so fucking good. im not sure what is possible with copyright and whatever but an in studio react where you both watch the movie together might be cool maybe? idk youre crushing it!!

2024-12-03 18:57:37 +0000 UTCClue I think would be a great movie to watch if Sam hasn’t already seen it. So many funny moments!

2024-12-03 09:06:30 +0000 UTCthe answer to the era question would be post-victorian (iirc emma is before industrialization technically bc that was turn of the century or immediately pre WWI) im with sam on the 3.5 rating side note cant wait for sam to do some film analysis loving the pod guys ❤️

2024-12-03 05:37:13 +0000 UTCI think this movie didn't hit very hard for me because I saw Heathers at a young age and then saw Mean Girls, then saw Clueless way later so it just felt like another rom com to be rather than an iconic classic. But I understand it's cultural impact and still enjoy watching it.

2024-12-03 02:25:00 +0000 UTCI kind of get Sam when she doesn't typically watch rom coms. I usually don't mind that kind of genres but I mainly look towards dark/sometimes dry comedy. When I was growing up I remember really liking the movie "Saved" has a bit of religious undertones with Mandy Moore as the school mean girl and Makuley Kulkin in a wheelchair mixed in with another character being a teenage pregnancy. Kind of tongue and cheek what they were going for. But I then leaned more towards thriller/horror/sometimes Sci fi films. My brothers and I were wating "Tremors" all the time and just renamed the Floor is Lava game as running from the sandworms in the movie. Enjoyed this movie and can't wait to watch The Godfather and to see yalls takes!

2024-11-30 20:31:39 +0000 UTCJust finished watching The Godfather in preparation for next week. I've been meaning to watch it for YEARS. Apparently it's leaving Amazon Prime in about a day so the timing worked out. Can't wait to hear you both talk about it!

2024-11-29 20:49:51 +0000 UTCFor TV/movie discussion sessions, you should watch Police Squad. The TV show that inspired the Naked Gun movies. Another fun parody/comedy show from the 80's is Sledge Hammer. As for variety segments, maybe we can get a Jazz Friday on a Monday, since we know Caroline won't do it on stream.

2024-11-29 16:11:50 +0000 UTCSegment suggestion: Let Meme Know. Sam schools Caroline on some deep internet lore, maybe with a twist of sorts so it doesn't overlap with Caroline's occasional meme history class with Nandre.

2024-11-29 00:37:23 +0000 UTCClueless was definitely a movie I'd have absolutely never watched without this. I'm glad I did though, as it was a pretty fun watch. I agree with Sam giving it around a 3.5/5
