Patreon Update January 2022....I may need to close Patreon

Late but Happy Near Year to y'all!

At the start of 2022, I guess I can say....I'm in a decently rough start. Not that I'm expecting any hopeful things (especially with Paypal TH's regulation), I've had plenty of electronics broken down. My gaming laptop's keyboard is fried for some reason, and my Wacom Cintiq Companion Hybrid has stopped working entirely. So now I had to adapt with my old Wacom Intuos 5 which takes some time to get used to.

Thankfully, I've withdrawn all my patreon savings from the past few months and managed to order a Huion Kamvas Pro 16 at least. Based from what many of my artist friends had recommended me this, I hope it would be a great drawing tablet that I can use for a while. As for the gaming laptop, I guess I'll have to save it up for another time.

*Update on new Thailand Paypal regulation*

So you probably wonder what's the end result with this horrid Paypal regulation. I still haven't fully finished preparing all the documents yet but should be doing it by next week.

However......... I've found out that even if I had upgrade my Paypal account to a business account,

"By next month, I will not be able to send my money from Patreon to my Paypal any longer"

The thing is, Patreon uses a payout API which lets the user withdraw their earnings any time they want to Paypal. But Paypal Thailand has officially announced that they will not accept any payout transfer. That means, I cannot send my earnings to Paypal.

However, this isn't entirely a nail in the coffin for my Patreon. I could use an alternative money transfer service called Payoneer. It does support with my country and there isn't any payout transfer restriction thus far.

But there is a *big catch*. I've heard a lot of things on how Payoneer is restrictive to their transaction. They seem to be against with any kind of "digital art commission" and adult contents. If they found out, they will disable the account. I don't really know how or why they ended by being supported with Patreon or if it's just my region's exclusive regulations, but it's still concerning information nonetheless.

So in conclusion, by next month, I will still be using Patreon and provide exclusive contents. I will also halt my updated tier list plan indefinitely. However, I do not know how long or how efficient it will be. It's like I'm living in the middle of the hurricane and I can be blown away at any time. And if Payoneer decided to ban my account, then I can officially say that it is the end for me with Patreon.

Hopefully, it wouldn't be too bad... so fingers crossed.
