HE did it... flawlessly! SpectrumQT, the creator of our tools to create and use mods for Wuthering Waves already came up with a patch for XXMI that will simply skip and ignore the new LoD texture mess Kuro landed with the sneaky update of yesterday.
It means I don't need to spent an eternity fixing all my mods and can go back to working on Ciacco and more! But on your side you need to do one thing : Update your XXMI core version to 1.8.5! This "update" is not necessarily automatic so you may have to do it manually. I linked the archive directly on this post. I've tested it and it seems to work fine so far but there will now be a little more delay for our mods to be slapped when we switch each char... It's a bit annoying but not him or me can avoid that. Don't hesitate to complain about this new LoD feature in the next version survey. Let's all just ask for an option to disable it and we will all win!
Also, do not worry about the windows threat/virus warning of the executable. It does happen when an executable is not "certified" by microsoft. A certification is acquired either by paying (yes it's an aweful thing that hinders small/independant software makers) or if that application was used a certain amount of time by microsoft users (usually not the case the 1-3 first weeks after release of any exe). The code is open source, viewable by anyone, it's perfectly clean and SpectrumQT would never do something shady to its users. He is indeed a kind person fully commited to our fun.
You can still use the Cantarella and Jinhsi versions of yesterday, this XXMI update is kind of doing exactly the same thing but in a different way. And you won't get better perf either way.
Cheers Everyone!
