About 2.0 and mods!

Greetings humans!

2.0 Game version is at our doors and one of your question might be "Will it mess with my mods?" Well, short answer is : Yes, there is a high probability it will. From v1.0 to 2.0, that already happened 2 times and those mighty critical updates are opportunities where game devs choose to upgrade and re-allocate character assets in the game hierarchy. Main reason of doing so is often improving the game stability, performances or slapping any cooked bug fix.

But for us mod creators, you can imagin it's a big needle in the toe! Because we have to go back to each of our old creations and inject once again dozains of hours just to "fix" them. Or let's say "adapt them to their new state" since we didn't do anything wrong in the first place! Sometimes this even require us to start over all the 3D models edits and I have to say that weights heavily on our spirits.

On your side and sadly for you guys a big portion of my collegues won't even bother to sustain their stuff up to date ready for the lastest changes, simply hoping their past submissions will withstand the test of time. I can totally respect that stance since it's tough to promise the opposite but as for myself I will always try to maintain my mods as long as health and my free time will allow me to do so.

To sum things up, don't freak out if something suddenly doesn't work anymore tomorrow. Just be patient and also no need to say any kind of cheering will be appreciated and will probably keep your favourite mod creators motivated during that period! Thanks for reading this and Happy new year!

Kuro and their little surprises! Am I right, lol? This'll definitely be a lot of work to do...

Okay I found the reason of your bug. They implemented a new feature in 2.0 version : The "weathering and wounds" on each character of the game when too much damaged, new textures showing those appear replacing the base ones (around below 1/3 of your max HP, not happening 100% of the time from what I know so far). Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa this is bad T .T it's a lot of work to do to fix ALL my mods one by one. Because this means there are now extra textures and new alternative addressing to edit, this will take ages to fix!!! I thought we were cool 2.0 why you doing this to me Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

That's amazing news!!! Looks like your vision for your carlotta skin wasn't up just yet, lol! Im very excited and pleased to hear about all of this the most. As for the situation with my skins, it's not all that bad anyways, and I'm in no rush for them to be checked out and potentially fixed! What matters is that Carlotta skin finally being in the works! ๐Ÿ˜–

Damn... That's a weird one! I could not explain one bit what happened in your case... I hope this will be a rare thing. I'll lead an small investigation later. Sadly I found bigger, way bigger problem : Since the 2.0 update the program we mod creators use to siphon data, it's gone. I don't know why, for now I can get real full texture of Carlotta. The only creator that can mod her were the ones involved in the server test before it hit the 2.0 (lucky ones!). I'm so frustrated I want to start working on her future mod, I've already seen so much stuff I want to try out! Sadly I can't do anything now until its creator update stuff or idk... Apparently it's related to some new data of the game that is not nvidia-supported anymore. I hope it's not a big deal I'll keep you all in touch if something is real wrong edit (1 hour later) : FOUND IT!!! It's a creator feature that is now disactivated by default with new version to avoid some mod user being confused with our creator tools! REACTIVATED and Carlotta imported successfully, I'm starting tomorrow!

So when I was using your Xiangli Yao skin, after a while soloing the new hologram sentry boss, he took battle damage without actually taking damage which reverted back to his original color pallete and causing his boots to glitch a bit as well

Yes! I'm happy everything is fine and all texture/3dmodel addressing stayed the very same. Can't be more lucky on this! Although I didn't understand what you said about the skin to wear off? What did you mean by that? I didn't see any issues after 2hr playin

Shirohรด

Luckily they didn't break, but the new battle damage system causes the skin to wear off, so it's definitely no biggie! Take all the time you need to situate your mods out, and please be patient, everyone! :D
