I believe itโs part of a ranking in worst food in the world. Personally I can only eat the โegg whiteโ (it still has egg white) and the soup (amniotic fluid) but I cannot eat the chick.

Itโs considered an exotic food by most foreigners because you can literally see the dead chick inside and you can feel the crunchiness from its beak and tiny bones. Balut is a steamed fertilized duck embryo. A little bit older for eggs than the usual eggs we eat.
