2020 in the Rear View Mirror

This was an awful year for so many people. I consider myself one of the luckier ones--

I haven't contracted Covid.

I enjoyed my summer off of work. I think I healed a lot during that time.

I had saved money just in time for the time off, and also collected unemployment because of furlough... then saved some of that, too.

I ate so many baked potatoes at the start of quarantine, that I'm kind of creative about making them now.

I gambled by flying to Texas mid-pandemic to drive home with my boyfriend, Cudler.

Cudler moved in and got his first job, and he works from home!

We went camping with my wolf pack (a triad I've been friends with for a long time), and healed some more.

I got called back to work at the casino. Because I wasn't part time, I didn't get any of my benefits back but I also didn't have to floor (supervise) again.

I donated my old car to charity. It was a Honda CR-V 2001 that I grew up with for 20 years. My father gifted it to me for $1000.

I was commissioned to paint a book cover for a book called "A Fistful of Antimatter" by David Seddon. It got published and printed.

I quit my job on the 14th of December to focus my energy on art, music, and learning. Also I don't have to drive an hour and a half in the snow to get to work anymore!

I learned a lot about my friends this year--that it's safe to lean on them if I need to, and that I actually do have a family here who adores and WANTS my presence, judgement free.

Learned to appreciate this state more, thanks to Cudler.

I can't thank you hard enough for your support! I'll have to think of ways to love you harder. Happy New Year, I hope next year is kinder to you than 2020! May you find wholesome moments to cherish as well!

With much love,

Yembag
