A Berserk ring from 1999
Added 2024-12-17 20:00:13 +0000 UTCHere is a silver ring that was that awarded to 10 readers of Young Animal in 1999 as part of a giveaway lottery. A number of rings were produced by a jeweler for the Great Berserk Exhibition, but before that they were quite rare. And I believe this one may have been the first.
Regarding the size, I believe the internal diameter is about 20 mm, so close to Size 11 on the US scale and 64-65 on the European scale. I haven't measured it precisely though. The text on the side just says "Berserk - 1999".
As you can see on the picture above. The giveaway included other items like a Guts statue from Art of War, a keyholder, jigsaw puzzles, Laserdiscs of the 1997 anime, a paper knife and paperweight combo, a Band of the Falcon flag, a Dreamcast, a beherit (from AOW) and a trio of telephone cards. Whew!
Now that I think about it, I actually have a bunch of those. 😅 Not the Guts statue though, which is the most rare and expensive of the bunch. The version they sold on their website had a green cape, so the red cape one was a special edition. I'm not sure how many were made in total, but only 2 of them were awarded on this particular occasion.
