Miura: I’m very sorry. laughs First, to tell you what I did... Basically it's because games just didn't exist during my youth. Saying this might be rude to game creators, though.
Because there were no games during my youth, a worldview where monsters are categorized, analyzed and indexed, in short the representation of monsters' abilities as numbers, didn't infiltrate my mind. I think that's the reason.
I grew up seeing very scary things in the manga of Mr. Nagai Go, so when I decided to make a living by drawing fantasy manga, the first thing I thought about was to reconsider the origins of monsters in my own way.
I wondered what the monsters that appear in folk tales or fables are considered to be.
The answer I found is that, as expected, the embodiment of humans' fears, or crossing the line where the human mind goes mad, this kind of thing is considered to be a monster or demon. Once I realized that, I wanted to make sure I did it properly.
Soejima: I see, that's how it was.
