Dragon Slayer body pillow
Added 2022-11-03 17:49:24 +0000 UTCCoinciding with the opening of the Great Berserk Exhibition in 2021, Prime1 Studio launched a gimmicky "Dragon Slayer body pillow", or as they call it in Japanese: ドラゴンころし 抱き枕クッション (DORAGON KOROSHI DAKIMAKURA CUSHION). It's being sold for 8000 yen ($54 at the current exchange rate) both at the exhibition and by Prime1 directly.
But you may wonder who would buy this sort of useless, super nerdy thing... Well me, of course. 😂 And I figured I might as well share the joy. It comes in limp form, bent in half to save space during shipping. Four small plastic rods are included, and once imbricated with each other, they form a pole of about 2 meters (6.5 ft) that keeps our sword erect when inserted inside. Somehow they were too long for the pillow in my case, so I had to saw one in half so they'd fit in properly.
It's worth noting that while you can indeed hold the pillow by the "handle" this way, the plastic pole clearly bends under the weight and I feel like playing around too roughly with it would probably cause it to snap after some point. It is fun to smack people with, though. 😛
