I mean they may not know the details of the match, only 6 people at the match place, none of the elders involved. Only Saki, Tome and Ken has the relationship with elders, But I doubt them would report it truthfully. And I think when Saki trains hard for the match, the elders would be gratified. So Aya has some value for help Saki unleashes her potential

She’s pushed Saki, a Shrine Maiden, this far without the use of any equipment, and now Saki is exploring friendships and her role in the world because of her competition. I couldn’t think of any person they might dislike more.

2024-11-26 11:28:11 +0000 UTCI know we haven’t seen them yet, but if Savaster’s response on the last post is anything to go by, this “Elder Council” can’t be far off. I wonder how they would feel about Aya? After all, she’s the only one (that we’ve seen) that is able to compete with “their Shrine Maiden” on almost every level, at least currently. I would think that would be incredibly threatening to them, as they don’t know this girl’s potential and don’t have sway over her actions like they do for Saki. Now that there’s an unsanctioned blessing happening, I can see them setting a freediving task for our girls meant to get rid of at least one of them. What happens when a combo team of Saki, Aya, and Eri easily complete such a challenge? (I’m just trying to think of ways to steer the story back into the water here).
