May 2021 Polls!

Hello patrons, and welcome to another set of polls!

This month we'll be following up from the last poll series, where we asked about the desire for prospective sequels to Overgrown: Genesis - or a brand new title?

Taking the vote by a big margin at 61%, most patrons voted to see a brand-new 2D title!

Though coming in a nice second at 20% were patrons voting for a 2D sequel to O:G where you get to play as Juno's daughter-successor. So it's definitely worth shelving and keeping in mind, but for now, I'd like to gauge interest in what you'd like to see if we went for a new 2D title!

Specifically, what kind of setting you'd like to see us explore!

As you may already know, we covered a dark fantasy setting with Claire's Quest, and then a post-apoc modern setting with Overgrown: Genesis. For the next setting, we'd like to do a fresh take in terms of setting! Note these polls are only for the setting, not the genre (yet). So what would you like to see? Options aaaare:

- Cyberpunk: A combination of high tech and low life. Intensely deadly poverty by the side of unbelievable, inhuman levels of luxury. Artificial intelligence, widespread cybernetic implants, racism and xenophobia reaching cross-species and cross-tech degrees. Drugs, sex, violence, fueled by unbridled tech and moral impunity amidst a neon-streaked background of electricity and lies. Notable games in this setting: Cyberpunk 2077, Deus Ex, etc.

- Bronze-Iron Age: The earliest of the human empires rise to take the stage. Early civilization begins in earnest, usually conflicted against 'barbarians' or dire natural disasters or immense predatorial threats. A time of epics and legends that will be remembered for ages to come. Think Gilgamesh all the way to Alexander the Great and then Caesar. Notable games in this setting: Ryse - Son of Rome, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, etc.

- Imperial-Industrial Era: A broad time period covering the 17th till early 19th centuries. A time of gunpowder-stoked empires, vast intercontinental colonies, the rise of industry, and all the large-scale wars, corruption, enterprise, cultural divides, and colliding interests that it entails. Notable games in this setting: Assassin's Creed (III, Black Flag, Unity), the Order: 1886, etc.

- Samurai Cinema/Wuxia/Asian Fantasy: The fantasy genre, but with a distinctly and uniquely Asiatic/Far Eastern take.  Think feudal Japan, ancient China and Korea, Polynesian sea-faring tribes, fearsome Hunnic steppe nomads, legendary Indian rajs, mighty Turco-Persian sultans, and so on. It could potentially take place in the world of Claire's Quest, across distant lands.  Notable games in this setting: Ghost of Tsushima, Jade Empire, etc.

- Monstergirls: Imagine a fantasy world filled with deadly monsters in all shapes and sizes. Except they're all female and humanoid. And attractive. And instead of killing you they want to hump you into a stupor and imprison/enslave/marry you as or else corrupt you into one of them. That's the gist of it. Inspired by Kenkou Cross's works and then tuned up to eleven over the years. Notable games in this setting: Monster Girl Quest, Monster Girl Island, etc.

- Superhero/Superhuman: A setting, usually modern, where superheroes or superhumans exist, usually alongside regular human beings. Think Marvel, DC, Boku Hero, so on so forth. Notable games in this setting: Spider-Man, Prototype, etc.

- Science Fiction: A space-based setting. Everything from the vast galaxy unexplored, across countless stars and billions of planets, to a lone ship drifting across the cosmos, unaware of the approaching, lurking threat in the blackness of infinity. Think spaceships, aliens, interstellar politics and intrigue, and so on. Notable games in this setting: Mass Effect, Alien: Isolation, etc.

- Science Fantasy: A combination of the fantasy and sci-fi genres, usually a setting where magic and technology are combined or at conflict. Notable games in this setting: Final Fantasy, Shadowrun, etc.

- Slice-of-Life/Simulation: An isolated village or estate, far from civilization. Idyllic, usually, but beset with its own share of problems ranging from the mundane to the ridiculous. You either try to build up a handed-down piece of land or rundown villa, or manage the village or estate overall. Notable games in this setting: Stardew Valley, Graveyard Keeper, etc.

Vote now and be heard! :o

GOD IM SO CONFLICTED! every single one of these options are just incredible! but if im being honest i think teh industrial revolution would be amazing especially since i have recently been playing "Alice return to madness". I think a gloomy atmosphere like that would be fun to see.

Nutmeg

Bronze age would be quite a unique setting

Xixsss

cyber

I would go bronze age all the way

Peachy

I was so hype of Monster Girl Encyclopedia so please vote for monster girl

Hungvipbcsok

Please god no more Sci Fi.

DrDarkheart

Sci-fi feels like the logical continuation from the other two, but it's a bit overdone, specially with games like TITS out there. Cyberpunk feels like it's being a bit oversaturated ATM as well. The non-modern Asian theme feels really fresh from a game perspective, yet relatively popular enough due to books, comics, and cinema to get a good influx of new players. Bronze-Iron age also sounds awesome, but definitely a bit more niche than the others. Magitech sci-fantasy might be a good middle ground and isn't quite as overdone as some others. What about have it be Asian style fantasy, like youkai, chi, etc mixed with the sci-fi rather than the stereotypical western type?

Best go with what you know. Dystopian project should listen to likes but do what it does best.

Kevin Crockett

I'm partial towards cyberpunk and particularly imperial industrial age since that might be genuinely untouched territory for porn and empire.

Karl Gipson

Full game Claire Quest and Overgrown)

Andrey Golovin

A female version of Monster Girl Quest that isn't all/mostly vore like Cecil's Adventure would be nice

Bronze-Iron & Imperial Industrial go go go! there is no A-games in this setting and just imagine possibilities!

lasp

So glad we can select multiple options because I wouldn't be able to pick just one. I went with Science Fiction, Sci-Fantasy, Cyberpunk, Bronze-Iron Age, and Samurai Cinema. The last two would probably be my favorites as I haven't seen many lewd games in those settings. And the Samurai Cinema could tie in with CQ :D

BurningIrony

I think Vampyr is a good example of Imperial/Industrial age. Or maybe Fable 2. Science-Fantasy has to mention The Longest Journey and the Jak & Daxter series. Whatever you go with, the level of quality from Dystopian Project basically means you can't do wrong with any of these. So it really is down to personal setting preference. Personally, I think the Cyberpunk genre most fits the Dystopian of the Project.

Decaying-Moon

Oh my God there are a lot of options and they are all interesting in their own way but science fiction no please just not her she is already tired of thinking for a long time I remember City of Broken Dreamers ,Dilmur, Defenestration, slut craft and so on there are already a lot of games with this theme maybe they are not all well made in terms of plot graphics and playability but there are a lot of them. And now tell me how many high-quality games were with the style of Monster girls here right off the bat tags corruption pregnancy futanari Bondage hypnosis and so on just how many games have you seen Lamia (snake girl) centaur (horse girl) arachne (spider girl) and then succubi demons girls ogres elves and so on it really can be interesting please choose the right option!!!!!

There's so many porn games set in a science fiction setting, from texted based to renpy. Heck even subverse just released early access. Cyberpunk does not have many options at the moment. I would love having something new to sink my teeth into.

Mr. Beefy

I must say, there aren't enough Cyberpunk games. The theme is dark so leaves plenty of room for your imagination.

Sirine

Oh my word that's a tough one! Any of those, made by you, would be good! But something really unexplored (in lewd games) like ancient greece would be very cool to see!

Jeno

it's hard to pick a theme! I don't know if I'd say I'm that into dark fantasy, but Claire's Quest is awesome so I feel like characters and gameplay matter more than the setting, to me at least.
