August 2020 Patron Polls
Added 2020-08-29 09:10:45 +0000 UTCHello patrons and welcome to another set of patron polls!
As some of you know, we are planning on expanding the Prologue area to include Rivermont, the town close by to Claire's home. Currently the Prologue only lets Claire run towards the coastline, towards Hookton, but in future updates we will make open the possibility to go into the besieged town of Rivermont in hopes of rescuing Claire's mother from pigmen.
For this month's polls, we are deciding on a key character that Claire will meet in Rivermont, namely a childhood friend who Claire grew up with, and often met up with when she visited Rivermont, who will be a romantic interest for Claire. There will also be a character from her childhood she is less-than-fond of, who serves as a villainous foil.
Option A1: Estelle, a spunky tomboy who regularly beat up the boys growing up and defended Claire if the other kids got too rowdy or prejudiced towards her for not being from town. She greatly admired Claire's father who being part of the heroic party that saved the kingdom years ago, and sought to follow in his footsteps, later joining Rivermont's guard contingent. Following the monster attack and siege, Estelle's superior, the previous guard captain, is killed, and command passes onto her. Estelle struggles to assert her authority and command in a town fragmented by fear and internal strife, and Claire's arrival will be a much-needed guiding force.
Option A2: Luc, a boy who grew up playing with Claire, who Claire would often defend and help because he didn't like conflict. Over time, Claire influences Luc to be a better person, and Luc eventually grows into a strong young man who joins Rivermont's guard contingent. When Bertrand leaves to fight for the King, he entrusts Luc with guarding the town in his stead. Although Luc accepts the responsibility, his resolve is wavering as his friends and family die one after the other, and when Claire arrives, it is up to her to steel his resolve.
Option B1: Clement, an older kid who lorded over the other kids, and held much sway thanks to being the son of the richest man in town; all the other kids feared and obeyed him, except for Claire and her childhood compatriot who fought back against his influence. In adulthood, Clement has taken over his father's business, and his first priority is ensuring his wealth and status are maintained. Should an evacuation take place, he will strive to make sure his goods and possessions go first, damn the lives of the commonfolk. Unfortunately for Claire, he owns the ships the evacuation takes place from, and has the support of many goons and townsfolk who owe him their livelihoods, and will be at loggerheads with the guard captain.
Option B2: Noelle, the prettiest girl in Rivermont, who hated Claire for taking attention away from her, and often tried to bully Claire in her childhood. In adulthood, Noelle married the richest man in Rivermont, and when he died in the initial siege, she inherited his great fortune and influence. She does everything in her power to ensure her vanity and possessions take first priority, and will be a serious obstacle against the guard captain and Claire, easily swaying the townsfolk in her favour thanks to her wealth, infuence, and undeniable beauty.

2020-09-03 23:35:32 +0000 UTCI kind of like the idea of Clement versus Noelle, evil versus evil. It would explain why the continent is in such as crap state and also why Claire still ended up along even after resolve the issues in the starter town. Also give Claire the chance to screw both side without remorse.

2020-08-30 20:03:42 +0000 UTCEstelle vs Noelle, but maybe with the twist that Estelle is the villain?

2020-08-30 16:55:00 +0000 UTCHow about Estelle vs Luc? Two sympathetic potential love interests, only one of which Claire actually cares for (or at least only one of which Claire ends up choosing), while the one Claire (or the player) doesn't choose ends up being an unintentional and understandable antagonist? I'm good with what the poll's asking, I just thought I'd toss this out there.

2020-08-29 22:40:40 +0000 UTCSince it seems Clement is the first runner-up, he could be involved in corrupting the guards and some townfolks to be rounding up some of the prettiest girls in town to "evacuate them to a safe place"..

2020-08-29 19:14:48 +0000 UTCKinda hope the townspeople/guards get involved in this one, since with Claire, Noelle, and Estelle they're missing out on any b/g scenes.
