Development has begun!

Hello everyone!

I started developing events and creating the framework for some of the new mechanics coming in v0.16 last week. I didn't want to announce it until I knew I was ready, and after development so far, I can confidently say v0.16 is ready to enter the development stages! \o/ You can expect weekly patron only builds until v0.16 is completed.

What will be in v0.16?

v0.16 will be an update to balance the game more. The early game will be updated with something new to do every day, and main characters with less total story content will be getting more story content.

The early game MC-Only "Explore Caliber City" events. (WIP)

I wanted to provide more context and exposition early in the game for players to get immersed within the culture of Syl'anar. Right from day 1, you'll be able to click on the front door to explore the nearest metropolitan area known as Caliber. You'll see humans walking their elves next to droids, expensive police cars next to homeless people, and advertisements to match to name a few. Naturally, this should make the player curious how this all fits together, and the Explore option will help with that. 

You will start off on Street 1, not knowing the area, so you decide to explore. After a short event you gain some knowledge of the of the area and move on to Street 2.

After exploring the first time, one location you discovered was the beach, the same beach you know and love. Choosing any of the top 3 options will bring you to those locations where the bulk of this content is meant to be. Each location is meant to have multiple short events, events that last under 5 minutes. These events will be very simple things, like finding a live auction, meeting new people, one night stands, or ways to happen upon money very early in the game.

There are 3 "Streets" in total, each with 3 other locations to visit, and each meant to have multiple events which keep you coming back. With the "Action Point" system, you can do up to 3 things before you use up a time slot and are forced back to the hotel. So you'll be able to go back and forth between these streets, or do all three things on one single street in any given time slot.

Some locations you can visit include; Caliber Slums, The Church, a Brothel, Papa Ron's and the Corpus Cafe.

Currently there are nearly 1,000 unique scenes in Harem Hotel. These are roughly defined as 'things you can experience'. Dividing that by 3 for the available time slots in any day will get you nearly a full in game year of content. Or in other words, nearly something brand new to do in every time slot for a full in game year. But there are still many time slots within the first year where there is absolutely nothing new to do, especially in the early days. My goal for this update is to finally give players something to do in every time slot for the first year.

It's also my goal to update the outfits everyone can wear while hanging out in the hotel. It was also my goal to implement the Gardening system in v0.16, but that is not looking very possible at this moment. It will still likely come in the future though. Perhaps some new lust content or extra story events will replace that. Side characters will also be getting plenty of love this update.

When will v0.16 release?

Sometime between October - November
