Umi no Misaki (Messenger of the Sea) 2

Attention: light spoiler alert.

As with any harlem fantasy manga, the protagonist is a male character who is a teenager like the three shrine maiden girls, and conveniently free from parental supervision and living by himself. And he happens to be the reincarnated Dragon Lord who gets to pick one of the maidens as his mate (very cliché).

Nevertheless, the story doesn't necessarily fall flat because there is a gradual characters development, where the girls take turns in hitting him initially first because he was their Lord, but then rather because of who he is and budding true love. Additionally, the dynamics among the change because the girls (who were close to each other since very young age) had thought they were all in this together as the chosen shrine maidens of the island - and at first it was all just fun and games of who gets to come on top and become the boy lord's most favorite girl. But they gradually realize that they are destined to be at odds with another and the eventual happiness of one would mean disaster for the other other two.

So the series is surprisingly an interesting read, and no it's only a coincidence that two of the girls sorta look like Chihaya and Aya :-)

Yes - with Aoi as its heroine, who was cute but looked like a widow because she was always in a kimono. :-)

I remember this manga a little. It's from the same guy that wrote Ai Yori Aoshi (Kou Fumizuki).

And even being a dragon lord you don’t have to do anything, you just get to be the king of the harem and the girls will contractually compete for your attention. In a way, it’s lookism at its finest…

Seems like your typical harem fantasy story. Except for maybe that he is a dragon lord instead of the classic demon lord trope
