The Notorious BIG

This used car dealership chain (BIGMOTOR Co., Ltd.) has been all over the Japanese media in the last week or so, and their series of reported malpractice (like intentionally adding damage to customer cars to boost revenues from insurance claims, or applying weed killers to public roadside trees to make their signs and inventory more recognizable) should keep YouTubers afloat for some time - who tend to report on horrible things they saw or heard XD

Well anyways, there are some queer things I note with their entity name - first, why is their company name "BIGMOTOR" all in caps with no space? Even fixing that won't solve the problem because "Big Motor" is still not very telling of their business. I assume they handle small (not big) cars too, and not just one but loads of them. And they buy and sell, and not manufacture cars. See a similar but much more fitting corporate name like "General Motors Corporation."  Maybe this comparison is too harsh, but still.

Not really. Most people would recognize the ABC's and have a fairly good idea of how an English word should be pronounced, while not necessarily understanding its meaning. A good majority of corporate logos are written in Latin alphabet (Toyota, Nintendo, SONY, etc....)

always wondered about latin alphabet in Japan, when an average person looks at it, it's like when a westerner look at kanji?

Oh that seems like shitty and shady behavior. But then General Motors is already the name of a big car company. So then they might get sued if they use a similar name. But yeah weird that they BIGMOTORS as a name when cars in Japan is smaller compared to the US
