So I worked in Miami for a year and 3 months. Before COVID I was a travelling on-site IT consultant for hospitals. Now I am a working from home and bored as heck consultant you never see! But I can attest that while I loved my Miami coworkers, Miami as a city is terrible. People treat the outdoors like one big trash can and the water too. If there is a long line workers will I swear to heavens above go slower. I am a big gal and only in Miami have people literally walked into me saying the didn’t see me. That thermometer won't work on metal because metals reflect IR so you're getting the temperature of your surroundings and not the drivers. Use like black insulation tape or sharpies to make the surface less reflective and then you can read the temperature of metallic surfaces
