More about spiders (Early access)
Added 2024-04-19 03:04:26 +0000 UTCI’ve spiraled. There is no other explanation. I thought about the spiders too hard and now I’m doomed to draw them. I’m not happy either.
Anyway, The spider thing ended up being a very good vehicle to showcase the inherent difference between the relationship Reiji had with his ex-boyfriend and the relationship he has with Gaara. I think it’s pretty cool. I still have one more little comic on this I want to make and I might make a little essay to go with it. Character analysis mostly bc I analyzed all of this so now I bug my audience with it bc what else do u pay me for hahaa

You're gonna like my essay Vanessa I just know. There is one more little piece of the puzzle that I plan to round up with the last comic that will seal the deal on the comparison (at least to me) and I think it wraps it up very nicely. No spoilers tho

2024-04-20 07:27:14 +0000 UTCReiji is me, hiding outside a room to avoid a spider. I am NOT him when it comes to his sympathy for them because I want to burn them all to ash. But it just makes me love him all the more for his kind heartedness extending to these little demons. Your spider drawings are just as creepy and terrifying as the actual thing. But I love this being a contrast to Gaara. The abrasive way in which Reiji is spoken to and how his fears are diminished and his kindheartedness is called weakness, vs Gaara’s understanding and gentle way in which he frees to spider, knowing a death of any kind would hurt Reiji, even when the one dying is something he is so afraid of. It’s a subtle, but brilliant way to show what he needed to lose before he could gain someone so perfect for him.
