Oh my gosh. You are so right about this! Have you ever listened to Hedningarna? This was one of my favorite songs as a young punk. https://open.spotify.com/track/6CINwNqZb87kcRuzIjFQGt?si=18077622fd7844a3

Ooh I am very interested! Can you send it via the Patreon inbox? only because it's easier for me to keep track there. If that doesn't work I can give you my email!

Here is a video of one of the tracts “Eg veit i himmerik ei borg”, that is a good example of. It is the inverse of bluegrass, lol. In bluegrass you have tragic lyrics and a peppy tune. With this one you have uplifting lyrics with a dark melody. https://youtu.be/y4eRS64nooo?si=rPDcbbQfgO_iFCPF

Recently I did a deep dive into the history of the Scottish ballad, Sir Patrick Spens (Child 58, Roud 41), which was sung by Ewan MacColl, my father Stewart Cameron, Louis Killen, and many others. The recounting of this historical period is fascinating. I can share my notes about it in an email if you’re interested, but it’s too long to post as a comment.
