Blacksmith Rough Mix!

My Dear Friends!

I am so excited to share the first rough mix of Blacksmith with you!

So far I'm thrilled with how it's coming along. I sent this mix off to my friend Jesse, who will be taking a stab at adding some Uilleann pipes this week! The quest for the right bodhran player continues, fingers crossed I find someone soon ;)

In the meantime, I'd love to hear what you guys think so far!

Love,

Eva

Cheers Bill! I haven’t done the vocal rides yet, that should solve the problem 😉

Gorgeous. It's growing as love grows - not diminishing the original, but deepening it into new dimensions. Thanks for the peek!!

Nathan Slaymaker

Loving the harmonium work. Accents the mandolin so very well with your voice portraying the story so beautifully❣️🤗

Byran Saul

You're sounding great, Eva! I love the drive behind this one.

Mitchell Kokai

Just can’t wait for this one- sounds gorgeous already. I love love the harmonium laying underneath, and the vocals are just gliding throughout. Beautiful!!!

Abby Dormer

Spectacular, I Love it! It’s playing through my hi-fi at the moment and the sound staging and balance is spot on. It sounds like I have you singing and playing in my lounge.

This is shaping up to be simply epic. I can literally hear what Uilleann pipes and a bodhran could do in spots. I don't know if you ever got to hear Colcannon play live in Colorado, but they were probably the premier traditional Irish band in the state for a long time. Their leader, Mick Bolger, is a brilliant bodhran player. The best I have ever heard actually. He moved back to Ireland, but the band still plays occasionally in CO still. I am not sure what you are looking for in a bodhran player, but you could contact Mick and see if there is any way he could be involved. mick@colcannon.com.

Absolutely magical, Eva.

Jeremy Brett

Beautiful, I really like it. My only caution is that towards the middle, your voice and the lyrics get drowned out a little. Adding other instruments would be great, as long as your vocals and mandolin don't get drowned out even further. Looking forward to the finished piece! Thanks, Eva!
