Hundred was definitely an enjoyable watch for me when it aired and I'm looking forward to the re-watch. Your questions about Emile will be answered soon and the confusion about the character type is completely expected. As far as the "no CGI" thing goes, the anime was created by Production IMS who don't really cheap out on animation with CGI all that much from what I can recall of their series.
