Production Tutorial: Exploring Reverb

Comments

You guys use a lot of Valhalla, so be sure to check out this Valhalla wrapper. Pretty sure you're gonna love it. https://elisabethhomeland.gumroad.com/l/qymjsa

You’re an absolute wizard! Love this!

Richard Rayner Music

by far the most in depth and easy-to-digest tutorial on reverb i have yet to come across. you both have such a straight forward way of explaining any concept thus far. THANK YOU so much for this! <3

lotusflow

I agree with this too. This would be awesome. Also, a look at any project templates you guys have built/utilize to help improve workflow.

One topic I'd love to hear more about from you guys is organization/workflow. How do you manage to balance time spent working on intricate sound design versus working on a track as a whole? How do you balance being able to work fast and get ideas out quickly with an intensive sound design process? Do you have specific days for sounds and save them to a custom preset folder for production days? Do you create new custom drums for every new track you make or do you have them in your own custom folders to draw from? How do you organize not only your files/presets/plug ins, etc, but also your time/days? Any other workflow tips/rules?

I'd watch from the bottom (oldest first) just because a few of them build off each other

Downloaded Ableton again after like 6-7 years just to go through these tutorials and try to get into production again - these are a godsend! Started with the first tutorial vid and already learned a whole bunch. Does anyone have a recommended chronology to watch them in? I think it would be cool to sort them into groups and then build a track/lay some ideas down after each group (like snares + kick mixdowns + drum arrangement , or synth arrangement + arpeggiation, etc.). But I don't know if some vids build off others and thus should be watched in order Regardless, thank you so much Will and Jim for these videos and obviously for all the stunning productions over the years

splut
