Some rambling here that I wanted to share... skip if lots of text is boring to you~

Recently I came across a youtube channel and they had two different videos on two related subjects: 1) kpop shipping 2) and the y/n fanfiction.

In the first case with kpop shipping, strangely they mentioned only gay ships and put taekook as one of examples, and the overall conclusion of that video was that the shipping culture is going too far and that it's better to not ship REAL people cause a) they're friends, and b) even if they were a real gay couple then they shouldn't be outed or exposed to sexual/romantic shipping. Of course, most comments were agreeing on how it's weird and wrong to ship real people, be it actual support content or through fanfiction and fanart. Some comments were even saying it's a form of sexual harassment and it's harming LGBT+... (ugh, I come across comments like that on my art very often as well) on the other hand there was no straight ships mentioned and how it can harm idols, their reputation, their privacy etc.

In the case of video about y/n imagines I expected that the youtuber would be as fair as with kpop slash shipping, saying same thing it's kinda weird to literally ship oneself with any band or artist, but no, it was just having fun reading the y/n fanfics, stuff like imagine BTS member doing things to y/n or reader, chase her, get her pregnant etc. And of course, none of comments were negative saying that "it's a sexual harassment" and that "this is a fetishization of a real person" that harms idols who are real people? No one questioned like "what if they see it? How uncomfortable they will feel". Hmm, feel the double standards?

Why shipping two same-sex members of a musical band is wrong because it's REAL persons, but shipping the same members with a reader - also REAL person - is absolutely fine? I mean, isn't that the same thing? Except with two members they could actually be a real queer couple, while with readers it's 100% made up. Well, to be fair, there's nothing wrong with either of these because at the end of the day it's all about free speech and self-expression. Some people believe something is real? Their right. Some people want to create based on that? Their right. But why is there so much hate and opposition only to a certain side? Actually there shouldn't be hate on any of that in the first place.

I won't say anything on the "it's sexual harassment" and "it's harming LGBT" comments cause it's just so absurd it doesn't need explanation. Most comments like that are rather hate speech. I mean my lgbt+ friends who aren't in fandom have no idea what is taekook, they don't even care about slash shipping culture in general, while the real harm in their life is the homophobes, the people who hated individuals like them long before the internet and will hate on them no matter what argument in support is brought.

Next, other type of comments on my art is like: imagine if you were shipped with your best friends, would you hate it? My answer is I don't care. In the case of my fanarts, I'd be even happy if if I were a celebrity and someone talented would create such beautiful art and stories with me and my best friend. I'm comfortable around my friends and confident about myself. Moreover if I were shipped with the person I secretly loved - I'd be extra secretly happy lol. On the other hand if I was shipped with a fan/reader - a total stranger, it'd be kinda strange. I mean, I don't know these people but they fantasize about me and them in romantic/sexual relationships. But even so it's just me, I wouldn't say anything against freedom of expression. Everyone is free to express themselves. I draw my art for myself and the little community that watches it. After all, I'm speaking for myself, I was asked this many times, so I answered.

Sorry for my bad English, I tried to express my thoughts. I wanted to speak out since a while ago my page was spammed by multiple hate comments from a few accounts, without interacting I blocked them but before that I checked their accounts and found out that one account named "Jungkook's girl" was apparently convinced that she and Jk are a couple, and the other account was writing explicit y'n fanfics posted on Instagram in the form of text images, shipping herself/female reader with Jungkook... like there was c*ck and c*nt in the text and graphic sex described. There's nothing wrong about it but girl, these both accounts attacked My Only One AU calling it disgusting sh*t and "don't ship two men who are like brothers" with lots of vomit emojis lol. Oh... I'm getting used to this sort of comments. I ignored them. Some time has passed and I came across those youtube videos and the situation in the comments was just similar, with the double standards and the hypocrisy. In the end it's just the old homophobia hiding under all the excuses... or just plain envy, jealousy, ignorance. That's why I wanted to speak my mind on that.

What's the conclusion? I'm not bothered at all, just sharing this because if you as a same-sex couple supporter or just a person who enjoys slash fiction or fanart encounter such an opinion, you know what to say in response if needed or just ignore and don't be discouraged by these opinions. Like, who is speaking? As long as we keep it respectful, ignore the haters, and enjoy what we love - then everything is fine. Live and let live. Peace 💜🕊️

A lot of kpop fans are Muslims, and they're definitely homophobic, let's be real. To me they're delusional as hell for reading such fantasy about them and a celebrity who doesn't know they're alive. Shouldn't they be looking for a husband to raise their 10 kids with instead? Lol. Anyway, there's nothing wrong with gay art. I celebrate you and your work because it pushes the limits of heteronormativity. It'd be my dream to watch something like MOO someday. Beautiful stories which humanize gay people once and for all. We also love, we also fear, we feel. As a gay woman, I appreciate you and other creators so much 💗 🥂 Your art means a lot to me. thank you for being an ally, HL

I agree. All my fanart is fictional just like fanfiction. I mean my favorite story I created is MOO and it's fictional to the core. I see them as characters, not real JK and V. The fact that I personally in my heart support them as a couple is separate from my fanarts, it's just a fanart. I really wish people could see it and distinct it 💜

Thanks a lot! I'm happy to know my english imporved, I try my best lately to listen to videos and podcasts as well 🙏 Many companies use this parasocial relationship idea with female fan x male idol to engage more buyers of their artist's content, it's not artists fault, it's marketing managers, that's why many fans are just deluded that shipping oneself with their idol is okay, even when some artists themselves express how uncomfortable they are about it, specially with those marry me stuff, not to say stalkers who are sure they will marry their idol (again, I have nothing against ff writers or fanartists who put disclaimers that it's just their fantasy and stay in their lane). Thank you for the compliment and support, it is very much appreciated! Yeah apart from my art I would love to talk about my own view on my favorite couple that I support and cherish, but that's for later 💜💚

Honestly Thank you so much for existing and putting beautiful art into this world.

Yess. People are entitled to their opinions. I ennoy Taekook fanart and fictions, but I have strict boundary that thesecharacters are just imaginary and it has nothing to do with the real V and Jungkook.

Hope here in Patreon you can express yourself freely

I love your point here-- As JK said; if their relationship is 'not for the camera' right now because of so many restrictive ramifications, what will happen when they are free from contracts? Or when South Korea ever fully embraces same-sex relationships? If a fan truly supports their artist, why wouldn't you want them to feel safe enough to be happy? To just exist without fear? They have a friendship ON camera, so whatever they have that's 'not for the cameras', I hope one day, they'll be free to express it with those that DO support them. 🌈🕊️

Your English is very good, please try not to worry. This was so well written with every reasonable point. No one is trying to be disrespectful to anyone else, specifically the subjects, is absolutely the point. It's no secret that just about every mature media outlet uses passion, fantasy, or romantic what-ifs that will never really happen with the viewer, to pull sales/ratings. The Pull to sell shows, products, music, everything is so subtle, that the people who are uncomfortable when they realize capitalism has a 'play on their consumer desires', just need to work that out for themselves and quit judging others on the interim. Marketing is not going to change for anyone. Your art captures what most of us are already thinking, but with off-the-charts skill and attention to detail (TAE'S PHOTO SHOOT SHIRT 😍). As a new patreon member, I can't thank you enough for a peek closer into the realism of our 'TaeKook What-Ifs'. I have a lot of thoughts and feelings on the 'Not secret, just Private' front but that's a whole other chat for another day.😂 Thank you so much for sharing your skills with other fans. 💜🥰

Yes I agree with your view totally!!👍💯 Lately I just hate when Army misuse „taekook friendship“ as an excuse to hate on their possible real love. When I read those comments: „you destroy their friendship by shipping them..“ They force to stop not only us who believe in taekook as something more but also they indirectly say to TAEKOOK – „if you are more than just friends we don’t want to know about it!!“ These haters know exactly what they are doing! The way they twist everything against romantic taekook to suit only their view is horrible, they bully us about it and omg the one I really hate and I cannot stand is : „You are not a real Army if you assume takekook as a couple“ What entitles THEM to DECIDE? These must be made up by literally kids for sure..🤕 Exactly as you said Elv freedom of speech cannot be ignored! We all can have an opinion and if in my opinion Taekook is couple nobody can take this opinion away from me!! We are Army because we feel this way and we can decide for ourselves only, not anybody else! They are convinced that they have this power to rule their rules! Sometimes I reply to them so that they do not spread and don’t influence even more with their greedy ideas and bullying phrases and many of them realise eventually but it is quite tiring and time consuming..😓 Our only wish is for them to accept other‘s opinion that‘s all, they do not need to even like it.. Anyway back to these beautiful arts of yours!!😍🥰 Fantastic work I love how so flexible your drawings are always and this time nearly b/w drawings own a special charm!! Omg and their natural love needs are perfectly depicted again .. I bet JK feels Tae’s calves pressure against his shoulders as an impulse from him taking even more and so as we can see JK gives him more and more woooow!!💜🔥
