Here's another little synth-y playtime jam, and another portal. I figured out a neat alpha masking trick with the shader nodes in Blender a couple of days ago--the parts of the portal that aren't orange and swirly are entirely transparent. And I think that's neat. I started over on the portal pictured because I couldn't figure out how to get the texture animation to lose the exaggerated easing in/out without changing the default interpolation mode about it before adding any shader-specific keyframes. For some reason they don't show up on the dope sheet or the graph editor. If you know how to view keyframes for texture animation in blender, please share dat knowledge. A lot has changed in the past few updates and it's been a little more esoteric than usual seeking answers to questions that seem like they should be.. fairly simple.

Today's project was to read about and try the Instruo harmonaig quantizer plug-in in VCV Rack after dinner. I went in thinking of making something drone-y and ambient, but I'm just feeling a little frenetic, I guess. I am still stopping a lot to consider the paths while building basic subtractive voices, but it makes a little more sense to me every time I try it.

In the concrete jungle, it is snowing already, but it hasn't stuck yet. I still need to change some oil and some axles before winter sets in, and finish unpacking the bare necessities of the next season in my new place. Getting closer to fully nested, but not quite there yet.
