I've been having a nice day in Anchorage, staying at a friend's house, eating fruit, casually editing some of the photos I took last night before packing up the shirts. I made some tea. Did my makeup. Wrote a little. Taking advantage of this sweet transition time to relax before rolling into the show. Later tonight we are meeting up with some friends for pizza, then setting up at the venue.
I decided to take that first shirt as my own (it's currently on my body). I like a simple cut-off tank, and I like the color combo that we did on the white T's. I am still deciding how much I should ask for them. Something, somewhere between respectable and accessible. I'm thinking $30, with $5 knocked off for the ones I don't love. It's a lot of labor, even though it's fulfilling, and the materials costs are not insignificant. It's hard for me to ask for money, and I'd rather have people wearing the shirts than have them sit in storage. But in the end, the money we make selling *merch* at gigs all turns into little subsidies on the studio bills & spending money that we can just grab from the cash box to buy materials (and seltzer water, and coffee, and snacks for those long days) as we need them. I'm getting better at fair valuations of these things. Persistently finding and losing and finding the balance~
The show is tomorrow, and I'll see some of y'all there. I brought my camera with me & am hoping to get some good pics of Saint Mood, Turbo Hell, and DJ Paranorma, but we'll see how many things I can make my hands do. :) :) :)
See ya after the show,
