First of all, they're all at the same university, Jenna knows who Harper is because she's the most popular girl at the university, which is why she already knows who she is on page 3 when she sees the fake “Harper” and asks her out. Harper, meanwhile, doesn't know who Jenna is at first because she's just a shy girl. She only saw her name on a list in the “office” after the exchange had taken place. She calls her to find out more about what happened and how they can find a solution to their forced exchange.
