[Mod] “Do Something” aka "Command Non-Active Sims" - make them Interact - towards others, objects, or alone - for More Control over NPCs

In the process of testing interactions for Law & Disorder, I made myself a tool that enables me to  force run any interaction on Sims regardless of availabilities and tests - this is powerful for testing but NOT safe to use by mod users. So I did add that to Sim Info Manager for modders.

But I felt it would be a wasted opportunity to not make a more restricted, safe to use version for y’all mod users.

So, here comes this.

It lets you tell any non-active Sim (aka not your currently played one) what you want them to do next. You can command them to:

-         Do a social interaction with your currently played Sim

-         do a social interaction with another Sim of your choosing

-         do an interaction with an object of your choosing

-         do an interaction alone

How to use this mod?: It is extremely simple:

-         click the "Do Something" main interaction, available at the surface of the pie menu when clicking another Sim

-         choose the type of action you want the other Sim to perform

-         done! The Sim will do what you asked.

The  interactions are organized by main pie menu.
The interaction's main menu name is first in pink / purple, then the interaction name. Under that, the sub-pie menu name is shown.
Interactions that aren’t in any menu are listed at the top .

1 - remove files from previous versions, if any

2 - REQUIRED: Lumpinou's Toolbox Library-Mod.

3 - grab the .package file(s) you want from this post (link below), and put it into your mods folder or one subfolder.

Just wanted to let you know how transformative this has been for my game. It's not only solved routing issues with NPCs and other related failures but has let me give them instructions that has sparked really good storytelling. It streamlines and opens up so much.

i love this mod but the last few times i have used it, it has caused my game to freeze and lock up entirely, and i have had to forcibly close it through task manager. i cant get the game to generate an exception, it just stops like this: i click on an npc > "do something" > interact with my sim > menu doesnt pop up, game wont unpause and i cant click on anything. i can still pan the camera around so it's not totally frozen, but i cant interact with anything. i tried opening build mode, it freezes for a while, and although it eventually opens, no of my actions actually register re; placing/selling items. i close buildmode: game still stuck. idk if i have too many pie menu interactions with this one specific sim, or something else is happening but it's been the same sim every time ive loaded into this save :/ the mod is otherwise really good and functions just fine, idk what's going on here, again i wish i could force an exception when this happens, i have BE installed so maybe it would tell me whats wrong

Just popping in to talk about how invaluable this mod has been for the broken bartender bug that's been going on forever! Now when they stop working and wander off, I can just right-click on the bar to make them start tending it again, and I no longer feel the violent urge to throw my computer against a wall. I was just playing the game and I wanted to pop on here quick and tell you how incredible this mod is and how much I love it! It has elevated playing with NPCs so much! Having your played sim have any kind of a relationship with an NPC has always been such a disaster and this has been an enormous improvement! Thank you so, so much!! :-)

Yes, mod socials are included. Re. objects in general, depends if the person creating the object tagged them properly for functionality or not, most of them should be done fine. Re the matter of cooking in particular, it might be NPC's can't cook at your sim's house, I haven't tried to see if the menus will come up or not

does the mod recognise custom social interactions? for example UTOPYA's mods: brawling, kiss and grind, etc. what about custom functional objects? like could i direct a sim to interact with a custom food enabler object and select a recipe for that sim to make?

Hi, I'm glad you like it. Re options coming and going - just thought I'd mention some of that is true here too, and desired: the goal is to imitate a normal sim pie menu, ie, stuff is available when it would be available to the sim were you playing them, if that makes sense. (The version of this I made for pure mod testing and debugging, which was the reason this was born, makes everything available always, but beyond being not very fun, that is also entirely unsafe to play with as a player, as interactions impact sim's data and thus performing some they should not have access to can cause serious problems with the logic of things happening to the sim in the future)

OMG!! Thank you!! This is amazing. MCCC has something kind of like this but with MUCH more limited options that seem to come and go. This is perfect timing - my sim is dating a female NPC and it's like herding cats trying to get her to do what I want her to sometimes. LOL This is going to be incredibly helpful!!
