[Misc.] Here's to the New Year!
Added 2024-12-31 23:38:50 +0000 UTCAnother year is done, and as we prepare for a new one, I thought I'd wish you a happy new year if you celebrate and share some quick notes.
Modding wise, we ended the year on a successful note with the recent new update release!
Most notably this year, in terms of releases, there were: new contraception options, additions to protection failure system; Style of ‘not wanting to have children’, number of children wanted, family preference changes via life events, baby name preferences; Community / Custom Gameplay Suggestion Mod and Web "Tool"; “Personal Lists”, “Curious Inquiries”, 7 mods for Lovestruck, “Say something to”, Re-make of RPO M10’s custody system; development of the TS4 Mod Hound Platform; RPO M19 expansion and ‘interactive woohoo’…. this despite some technological issues and ferocious EA patches.
So what's next?

I need my stress to go down. I have 2 Works in Progress I posted about last December that were very advanced then and still are (the updated paternity system and auto-family tracking / genealogy). I would like them off of my back, if that makes sense.
The past few days I have allocated some time to fixing in them what patches upset. I am releasing a partial version of genealogy very soon (the 'auto family tracking' portion - and by very soon I mean it goes in beta within 24 hours of now), and hopefully the full paternity update will follow. With these two matters 75% out of my mind, I hope to rest easier.... although the list of work to do is never ending... I also would like to catch and fix some pesky small things that have come up on Discord a few times...other than Law & Disorder, what to expect in 2025? Well, many more expansions and feature updates to RPO Mods (I've talked about so many plans in so many places.... there is so much to do!), hopefully my 'custom religions' mod project, among other things... on the side, the continued development of the Mod Hound platform, those are the certainties, then there will be more random stuff as always, revamps of older things, new things I can't yet predict...
Thanks for sticking with me through 2024. I hope your world has been warm and your Sims game, the creative outlet, escapism, challenge, or other fun that it is for you. I thank you for making my work a part of that, and making my work possible! Personally what I love most about the game is seeing whatever random nonsense it will throw at us players, and what we make of it. I enjoy the positive energy that comes from what you all create, be it builds, sims or story!

2025-01-03 16:59:23 +0000 UTCI just think that as time goes on, (and the Sims 4 goes on...and on), modders have a greater burden with each passing month of maintaining/updating all their all past work AND creating new work. I think the community needs to be educated on this reality and learn to adjust expectations. Otherwise the workloads on creators will just keep ballooning to unsustainable levels. As a community who supports modders, those expectations need to adjust. Engagement can look like different things, not just releasing new work.

2025-01-03 00:52:37 +0000 UTCHappy new year to you as well and thank you for your nice words and continued support 🙏 I agree that it would be very beneficial to slow down, sort things out, smooth out creases, update the site, etc etc, vs doing new stuff. It is just difficult to keep audience engagement and support when not always bringing something new, as unfortunately all that necessary background work is not visible or exciting for players. But indeed fact remains that stress is too much lately and it's all from this. So I need to at least try and get some stuff out of the way, because being so burnt out and stressed makes it near impossible to make good progress on really complex projects. I hope your year is starting well and that it'll bring lots of good things!

After you get those two things off your chest why not do whatever you need to that will lower your stress, even if it's just cleaning up old stuff or organizing your files or whatever, and not worry for a bit about producing new work? I do worry sometimes that creators put a lot of pressure on themselves to constantly produce new things, and it's really not necessary imo. It's probably the most fun part, but it's no fun ether to feel so stressed - especially with the increased rate of patches ! Be good to yourself in 2025!

This is not a conflict, it is a deliberate duplication for integration. BE doesn't know and has no way of knowing these things. You can ignore its conflict reports entirely for all my mods

I could not play without your mods :) Just a suggestion, would you consider adding the ability to tell another sim their partner is cheating if they witnessed flirting/kissing/wohoo? and maybe have the recipient of the bad news be able to decide whether they believe them or defend the partner?
