2023-09-28 21:24:28 +0000 UTCI understand what you're saying about Giles and him having no real reason to leave 'in universe', but I actually think it makes sense when this season is all about making mistakes. It's totally on brand for the theme of the season. He saw Buffy struggling, and instead of doing the right thing, he kind of hid away from it cuz it was probably too much for him to handle. Just like every other character did when confronted with a big struggle this season.
