This was quite a fun episode with an awesome twist, so I hope y'all enjoy watching with me. And no big deal or anything but we all know what episode is next in the watch order... BUFFY SEASON 6!!!! IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!!! As mentioned, I won't be able to post it on January 1st, since I won't be in town, so 6x01 will be posted around Jan 8th.

Yes, true happiness is the only way, that is how the curse works. How that "true happiness" is reached, or the trigger for that to occur, may have various ways to come about. Multiple roads to one destination. We shall see.

Yes, he turned dark without reverting to Angelus, but there are likely other ways to lose his soul again. We just don't know them. True happiness, yes, but is that the only way?

2022-12-26 21:05:14 +0000 UTCAngel is very unlikeable in that opening scene. And that's coming from someone who often likes the unlikeable characters. Angel is just petty and mean, and not in a fun way. But even then he's nothing compared to how blood-boilingly frustrating Gio is. Overall, I don't like this episode much. On paper it could be good: Gunn is torn between old and new loyalties. But the racism metaphor feels extremely ham-handed to me.
