2021-07-07 18:37:24 +0000 UTCI love these "what it means to be the slayer" episodes where they explore all the facets of being the slayer. This one really explores a major limitation placed on the slayer. She's meant to fight the darkness of the demon realm, but the human realm is separate. Despite being a human weapon intended to meet out lethal justice, they can't take a single human life, unless for defence. There are so many unwritten aspects to being the slayer. I think one of the reasons Buffy is attracted to Angel is because he is a vampire. By her nature she spends her life in darkness. Being where the vampires are. Plus, her super strength would, I think, tend to be a hindrance to dating a human. With Angel, he's closer to being her equal in strength.
