SRS #164 [Video] with Mike Grover

Where do you think cybersecurity is headed in 2025, and what challenges or breakthroughs do you see on the horizon?

Mike Grover is a security researcher, InfoSec expert, and the creator of the infamous O.MG Cable. He gained prominence in 2019 when he showcased his malicious USB cable prototype at DEF CON, capable of recording keystrokes and executing remote commands. Grover's O.MG Cable looks identical to a regular charging cable, but contains a tiny implant that creates a Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing attackers to access the connected device from up to 300 feet away.

The book “ Countdown to Zero Day” is a great book on the Stuxnet worm and Symantec’s investigation of it. It affected PLC’s where I work but without the exact uranium centrifuge and plc output card you were safe.

Thank you.

Hey Shawn could you respond to the references to you and this show in the disscussion between Clayton Morris and Whitney Webb on the Redacted podcast? Please be careful who you align yourself with these days.

He should totally program these things to stop working if he dies … like if it detects his obituary online, they stop working. I say this because say he gives this tech to our government, they want to use it nefariously against the citizens, and then we would need him to fix it without having access to the White House. However, this would ensure they don’t off him to use the product nefariously - kinda guarantees him alive in this situation. Just a thought.

I can tell you mark warner is the one in congress to watch. He has a bunch of shell companies and legit companies he’s partnered with, many for small business loans, and he’s the main tech guy in DC, which is laughable to begin with. He always has his sidekick Kaines with him. Dems from Virginia. Anyways, I think he’ll create the problem and then try to swoop in and be savior. I believe it’ll have something to do with satellites from my research so far. Is Trump doing anything with satellites that we know of I wonder?

man, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for only costing me $5 a month

I had that happen to my fb to someone I supposedly new from my old army unit that we were on the same group, which I had a convo for an hr or 2 on the phone. I get this text message wanting access to my fb if I'm remember right then he or whoever asks me to pay his bill at Walmart that I could do locally and I said dude I haven't got the money right at the moment then I clicked on my fb that just deactivated for no reason.

Hey Shawn, I know you’ve been super busy and I know you’re pushing hard… but you need a break, man. I can hear it in your voice and see it in your eyes. Find a way. Hire someone. I love you too much to not call you out. Take care of yourself. You were having a hard time concentrating on this interview. I noticed it quickly, but you confirmed it for me the moment you asked what a blue box was… he JUST told you what a blue box was. You are too important for this country to not do what is best for you. Take another Mexico trip if you need to Speaking of which, I have a down payment for one. Need to go soon. Buddy checks.

Cyber security in 2025 the main line of attack and defence, for what we've walked into not being able to win. People lynching me for cracking wise about i don't want to say I told you so, as we are enslaved by sky net and asking seriously terminator did nobody else seen it. Would be up there on challenges. We must really be scrambling like mad to keep up with 1 of the few jobs Cyber security. Being thankful for people like this guest, who if you knew have the stuff he must know, while finding out how much further we can be hacked via Bluetooth on the things we let into our lives, homes and their every increasing amount of ai which I presume has been around for 30+years. Realising worrying about any of this isn't going to change anything, and if did wouldn't get anything done. Realising I should have watched before commenting. Realising this is going to be a good 1 and should of got them wee small plasters to cover camera on device, that Google and Microsoft have basically a key logger on. Stop typing and watch before I get lynched by everyone on here. Looks like another good 1
