2024-01-23 15:16:08 +0000 UTCLighting protection circuitry is common to protect electronic circuitry. The only thing that blocks EMP is a faraday cage around the entire circuit. It comes as a wave and will travel trough all conductors and damage modern silicone based electronics.
2024-01-06 00:52:16 +0000 UTCIf we are hit with an EMP there are going to be more problems than concern that your car won’t run. Gas pumps probably won’t work and ATMs will be locked down. The electrical grid will likely be down also. Perhaps radioactive fallout might be something to worry about!
