Arc Bark: Arc 1 Ep 3: Ups and Downs
Added 2020-12-23 22:52:23 +0000 UTC
Talk back for episode three! The first arc crew really unpacks the idea of a dolphin saddle for horses, the privilege of ancestral guardians and the possibility of chimney lizards.
There's a podcast on Spotify called Trials and Trebuchets and the wizard has Catapult. You'd be surprised how often it comes in handy!!

Good thing Brennan's not here, they talked about snake tiddies and he'd have a snilk flashback

Ooh Very Random Encounters does a similar thing to what you guys were talking about, it's a real play podcast that uses randomisation for characters and worldbuilding and it's very fun, they've got a lot of good short campaigns

Currently in a campaign where my bardlock buys a ton of daggers and plus 1-2 daggers and the arcane trickster catapults them. It’s a fun spell.

I was absolutely not expecting to tear up during the beautiful Hallmark movie you all wrote together and yet, here I am.

Oh my god, I’m 33 years old and you guys are saying all the right movies to hit my nostalgia.
Emily, you HAVE to see Rescuers Down Under!
You will love it!

Man, the ability to go off topic in the aftershow puts Short Rest, and Adventuring Party to shame. Love it.

If the movies were lizards instead of mice, Emily would be in.

The face-to-face dolphin saddle for horses ended me. Also, great mouse detective for sure holds up

To talk about rodent-based children's media, Emily needs to be alerted to The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents. I know she's getting deep into the Discworld canon, and TAMAHER is book #28, but can be read any time after Reaper Man really. It's the first Discworld novel written specifically for kids, and the first one I read when I was little (before then reading every single other Discworld novel multiple times, and deciding I wanted to write).
It's Pratchett's take on rodent-based whimsy, and she'll love it. I promise. (Maurice himself is also a cat, which, well, I have hints and suggestions that Emily might be a fan of cats.)

Loved the mouse movie discussions!!! And Emily, definitely should watch An American Tail (personal opinion is it’s way better then Feivel Goes West). Agreed on Rescuers Down Under though being numerous steps above The rescuers.
It has been a while since I have seen The Great Mouse Detective though, but remember it being rad.
Don Bluth has such a solid run of films though for a while then they just sort of fell off
