Secret Documents #149: Mirage F1 Guide - Start-Up (F1EE)
Added 2023-02-23 15:23:42 +0000 UTCHi folks!
This time around, let's start-up the Mirage F1EE. I wrote a complete and separate procedure. Why? Because some switches are placed at different places in the cockpit compared to the F1CE, so instead of having the user spend time looking back and forth between the cockpit and the start-up section... I thought it would be easier to just list everything.
The INS alignment comes in the usual flavors; stored heading and full alignment (not counting Fast Alignment, which is similar to a Full Alignment but quicker and with worse performance/drift). For the full alignment, most of the tutorials I saw assumed a correct initial position without any INS drift. In our case, I went a step further and assumed that the INS is misaligned and that the coordinates of the aircraft need to be re-entered. This can come in handy for those of you flying in multiplayer and doing multiple sorties with the same aircraft.
Of course, stored heading (ALCM, Alignement sur Cap Mémorisé) remains the preferred method since it is much faster and you don't need to enter any coordinates since the initial position of the aircraft in the INS matches the real aircraft position in the simulator environment.
