June 2021 - The Beginning of the Great Flight Sim Summer

Hi folks!

The month of June went by crazy fast! I barely had time to write some proper entries on the Patreon front, and I hope to fix that.

First, I want to thank you all for the warm reception of the Harrier guide update. It's something I didn't really plan nor want to do so early, but as it often happens... the timing was convenient, everything spiraled out of control and before you know it... the work was done. I may revisit it eventually to add a few missing items, but definitely not in the near future.

I also released a sneaky update for the Mirage air-to-ground weapon procedures. DCS standard 2.7.2 changed a few things with the CCIP and CCRP logic, and a few other things. I expect another update will be needed a few months from now; rumor has it that RAZBAM has yet a few more changes in the pipeline.

And now... the pièce de résistance... the Mi-24 Hind. It's finally here, and of course I've been flying it for the last few days since release. The module is buckets of fun and I think it's likely going to end up being one of my favorite helicopters, up there with the Mi-8. I've resumed work on the Mi-24's guide, but it'll take a while to complete. I hope to include procedures with the "Petrovich AI" and procedures in Multicrew, a bit similar to how I did things with the Tomcat guide. 

So far, I'm also spending a bit of time to experiment with it. It's been since July 2020 (time flies!) since I wrote something on a "new" plane and not an update/re-write for an existing module. It's a great feeling, being in the exploratory phase where you're not quite 100 % sure you know what you're doing. Writing is going well so far, but I also want to spend of bit of time enjoying the plane and flying it with friends in the process.
