Let's talk about the laser-guided variant of the Maverick air-to-ground missile, the AGM-65L. While some may think that it's just a regular Maverick with extra steps when using your own targeting pod, the laser Maverick is very useful when working with JTACs that lase targets for you (or other wingmen equipped with targeting pods). In that regard, just set the missile to ACTIVE mode, and the missile will find & track the laser... and all you need to do is fire and forget. Easy peasy. Another interesting aspect of the AGM-65L is that it can track moving targets provided you use the TGP Point Track mode while lasing.
