Good news, everyone!

The first iteration of the F-16C guide is nearing completion and will be released next Monday on May 11, 2020. It's about 475 pages long and is probably the longest project I've undertaken yet for a DCS guide.

I'm spending some extra time on polishing, proofreading and creating proper bookmarks (this needs to be done by hand).

I've actually wondered about that myself. I don't think I necessarily did anything different with the Viper than I did with other guides (the Hornet itself and JF-17 guide are due for an update as well, mind you) but the Viper is one of the aircraft that has tons of reference material available. Plus, I felt some extra pressure since I know the BMS crowd will likely flay me alive if I mess this one up. The Viper is one of the most beloved aircraft for a good reason. The page count probably has something to do with the fact that so much functionality is embedded in the DED (Data Entry Display) pages... and accessing information is always a bit more of a chore than in other aircraft like the Hornet where most of what you need is available in a single MFD page. It probably also has something to do with the fact that this guide took about four months to create, which is longer than usual. I try to make each guide better than the previous one... but sometimes it bites me in the arse.

Hey Chuck, as a follow up. The Viper guide has more than 450 pages, which the Hornet has 356 and the Jeff has 395. How can a less developed module like the Viper cause you to make that guide larger? Will you have to edit out stuff? Shorten stuff? Or is the Viper that much more convoluted? Just curious.

Awesome! :)

Congrats, Chuck! Even though I don't own the Viper module (waiting for ED to truly advance the module), I really appreciate the time and effort you put into these guides. Awesome work!
