I think Clint's retired now. The end of Clint's sentence, his idea is the next word you see and title of the show. Hawkeye! He thinks she shouldn't have a new name, and should just be the new Hawkeye, like how Sam is the new Captain America. People age out, grow old. Being a hero is HARD on the body. Batman Beyond for example. I REALLY hope we get to see Yelena and Kate have a new similar friendship in working together on missions like the OG Black Widow and OG Hawkeye did in an upcoming film. It works out perfectly like if they're able to have those roles on a new superhero team.
